Semesterly Events
There are eight general meetings scheduled for the semester. Each general meeting features a number of speakers from public accounting firms, private industry firms, state and federal government agencies and education. Members have the opportunity to learn about the accounting profession and meet professionals in the field. Networking time and appetizers are provided at the meeting.
Accounting Society works closely with Beta Alpha Psi to organize a professional recruiting event called Meet the Firms. A highly-attended event, Meet the Firms allows members to meet professionals from the accounting field and learn more about companies in attendance.
Throughout the semester, the Accounting Society also holds socials to allow networking not only with professionals but also with other fellow members. Community service events are also organized to give the Accounting Society a presence with the commmunity by giving back.
As the semester draws to a close, members have the opportunity to encounter the professionals again at the end-of-semester banquet. The banquet reflects on the past semester and introduces incoming board members, scholarship and award winners.
