Many college women seek something more than classes and casual friends. Sorority membership, which begins as a part of college life, provides a lifetime of learning and involvement. Sororities are sisterhood organizations with chapters at accredited colleges and universities. As extended family units, sororities offer warm, caring atmospheres which encourage individual development. Sororities promote sound scholarship, leadership ability, community outreach and life-long friendships. Sorority life will help you make the most of your college experience as you join together with women who share your interests and ideals.



Rush offers a perfect opportunity to explore all groups on campus. Keep an open mind and become well acquainted with all groups on campus before determining which one is best for you. alpha Kappa Delta Phi Rush is a fun-filled week of scheduled activities designed for YOU, the rushee, to learn more about aKDPhi. It is a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. There is no obligation in joining, but the sisters of aKDF welcome anyone to participate in our rush week full of food, games, and entertainment.


alpha Kappa Delta Phi is founded on the ideal of sisterhood. It is often said that in college, friendships are developed that will last a lifetime. We consider every single member of alpha Kappa Delta Phi a "sister." A sister is someone who you can share your hopes, dreams and fears with. A sister will listen and give you the support you need in good times and in bad. The sisterhood of alpha Kappa Delta Phi is unique. Each sister is different yet special in all our hearts. We encourage you to experience the sisterhood of alpha Kappa Delta Phi, a sisterhood like no other.


alpha Kappa Delta Phi provides a great network of support for academic endeavors and recognizes excellence of our own sisters with rewards and scholarships. We strongly emphasize academics within the sorority. Our educational experience is important so we encourage each sister to strive to the top.


One of the most gratifying aspects of sorority membership is the sense of pride that comes with involvement in community service. As a sorority, alpha Kappa Delta Phi strives to further Asian American awareness and the aide the Asian American community and other communities through service projects, volunteer work and charity fundraising. What makes aKDF unique is our continued dedication in promoting public service not only to the Sacramento community but to the campus community as well. For the past year we have participated in the following community-oriented events: Sacramento Children's Home, Senior Hart Center, Race for the Cure hosted by Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, ASI Community Service Day, Children's Miracle Network, Shiner's Hospital. Alpha Kappa Delta Phi's chosen national philanthropy is breast cancer awareness. Each semester promises to include new and exciting service events which will benefit the sorority and community.


alpha Kappa Delta Phi is dedicated to building future leaders. Sorority members are some of the most active and visible student leaders within the sorority, the campus and the community. Members develop valuable leadership skills through sorority activities and opportunities that will help them in their chosen careers.


A big part of the college experience is sharing good times with friends, new and old. alpha Kappa Delta Phi provides ample opportunities to meet and interact with people from university campuses all over California and the nation. From social exchanges, retreats, formals and road trips, the sisters of aKDPhi share many memorable moments.
