Initiated in the spring semester of 2009, the Facebook group serves as a method for members, candidates, and alumni to connect online. All members, candidates, and alumni may join the group. Note: Although this is a social networking website, you will be viewed by professionals as a representative of Beta Alpha Psi. With this in mind, keep all of your communications professional. Interviews:
On-campus interviews are offered through the Career Center. Interviews are typically
held October through December and March through May. Businesses, including
many accounting firms, offer on-campus interviews. You must attend an
orientation prior to signing up for any on-campus interviews. Contact
the Career Center for details.
Appointments:
Walk-in and scheduled appointments are available. Call (916) 278-6231 or stop
in at the Career Center for more information. Individual services include:
- How to get around the room in an hour
- How to impress a recruiter in 2 minutes
- What to expect: 1st and 2nd interviews, out of town, evening, meals and alcohol
- How to research the company in advance and what you should know
- Differences: public and private accounting firms, government, private industry
- Good questions to ask during your interview to show your interest and knowledge
- Letters: rejection/acceptance when receiving multiple job offers
- Salary/compensation negotiation when accepting a position
- Emotional support
to assist you through the job search experience
- Coaching to prevent
mistakes, as well as to learn from past mistakes
- Writing your resume as well as prospect, cover, and thank you letters
- Dress for success for professional and casual; interview clothes; how to pack for an out-of-town interview
- Body language: handshake, eye contact, posture
- Speaking: preparing responses, voice tone, tact
- International students: assistance with language and interview skills
- Mentorship: how to use a mentor (at school or work)
- 6 months free use of all Career Center offerings
- Available thereafter for $65/year

Off-Peak Parking:
Most student and faculty/staff parking spaces are open to all Sac State parking permits. Note: A Faculty/Staff parking permit is required at all times in the Faculty/Staff section in Parking Structure I and Faculty/Staff spaces located around the Residence Hall complex. A Residence Hall parking permit is required at all times in Residence Hall spaces in Lot 2.
An off-peak parking period is defined as: Monday-Friday after 4:30 pm during the fall and spring semesters, Saturday, Sunday, campus
closure holidays, summer, winter intersession, spring recess and finals week.
Night Shuttle Service:
The Hornet Express Night Shuttle is a demand-responsive service offering transportation to the campus community to and from the various locations on campus and to vehicles parked on campus. Night Shuttle service is available Monday-Thursday from dusk until 11:00 pm when fall and spring semester classes are in session. For Night Shuttle service, please dial x87260 from any campus telephone. The shuttle will typically arrive within 15 to 20 minutes.
Public Safety:
Will assist you with vehicle lockouts, dead batteries, lost and found and theft reports, as well as emergency situations. Please call (916)
278-6851 for assistance.
