CCPH publishes a quarterly newsletter entitled California History Action. California History Action is intended to keep our members informed of the latest news in public history and contains stories on legislation, public agency activities, grant opportunities, member news, award nominations, conferences and events, book reviews, and, of course, CCPH happenings.

California History Action is published in February, May, August, and November each year. Deadlines for submissions are the first day of each month of publication; however, earlier submission of materials is encouraged. Submissions can be made by email (preferred) or regular mail. Email should be directed to californiahistoryaction@hotmail.com and regular mail can be sent to CCPH, Attn: Jenan Saunders, Editor, Department of History, 6000 J Street, Sacramento CA 95819-6059.

California History Action offers an opportunity for students and new professionals to have materials published with a byline that identifies them as the author. We always have story ideas in need of writers, so if you're interested in writing a story, please contact us. We also receive newly published books for review and can send you a list of books available for review upon request.

Because the quarterly nature of the newsletter sometimes interferes with timely news getting out to our members, CCPH also operates an email listserve.
