Biology: Strange Science


Our students really get into their work!

Course description:

This course introduces students to some of the basic concepts, materials, and methods in biology and the biology laboratory. Topics include microscopy (compound and dissecting), identification and use of standard laboratory materials and equipment, chemical tests for constituents of living cells, basic microbiology lab techniques, vertebrate dissection, and examination of animal and plant adaptations. Emphasis will be given to hands-on laboratory activities with many opportunities for interactions with living organisms. Estimated Weekly Homework: 2 to 3 hoursStudents who successfully complete course requirements at the "A" and "B" levels may earn 1 unit of high school credit in science.
