One of my favorite creative outlets is photography. There is much more to photography than just taking a picture. I like to manipulate the film, emulsion, and/or change the traditional processes (development and printing) to create unique art work. Photography also nicely complements my other passions which are hiking and traveling.

I took this picture in one of my favorite places visited - Ubud, Bali in Indonesia.
The image itself is the result of a process called SX-70 emulsion manipulation.
The end result of this process is somewhat impressionistic.

 

I took this picture of a farmer in Bali as he was leaving his rice field after a day's work.
I used the emulsion lift process to peel the thin film, which contains the image, from the photograph and then transferred the film onto watercolor paper.

 

I took this photo of the Webster Hotel in South Beach Florida.
The process used here is called image transfer.
