I am responsible for the preparation and maintenance of many of the Biology Department's laboratories. This job is accomplished with the help of many student laboratory assitants. To learn more about what we do in the labs and how you may be able to help, click on the photo above.

I supervise the care and use of the Biology Department's animals (both vertebrate and invertebrate) all of which are used in our laboratories for enrichment purposes (observation) only. This job is accomplished with the help of pre-vet students who can earn units while learning to care for some rather exotic species. Come with me for more!

I have been teaching science classes for the ATS program at CSUS since 1990. ATS is a program that provides academically challenging, fast-paced coursework to highly able and motivated sixth through ninth grade students on our university campus. To learn more about this program, what I do, and the ways you might get involved (especially if your interest lies in teaching), click on the photo above.

I consider myself very fortunate because Biology and what I do at CSUS are connected to and complement my many interests outside of "work". Whether it is exploring the world, hiking the coast or the Sierra, eating bugs around the world (entomophagy), photography and the arts - all are in some way related to my interest in Biology and the natural world around us. Join me in exploring these and more - click on the photo above.
