Fraternities and Sororities at Sac State
Being in a Fraternity or Sorority means more than just wearing Greek letters, attending meetings, and going to parties. It is about making friendships that will last far beyond your college years. It enhances your personal development through a commitment to the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service. Fraternities and sororities look for students who share similar goals and values while respecting your individuality. Your brothers and sisters are there to support you and help make the many transitions during college easier and more memorable.
They represent national, international, local and regional organizations. Some also promote certain cultures or multiculturalism. With so many choices, more than likely there is one for you!
Sac State hosts 37 different chapters ranging in size from five to more than 60 members each. While all embrace the fraternal values of brotherhood, sisterhood, service, scholarship, and leadership, some are more social in focus, while others affiliate around shared identity or special interests.
