Higher Education Promotion at Sacramento Hmong New Year 2011-2012

Hmong New Year is an annual celebration in the months of November and December. The purpose of Hmong New Year in America is to welcome the new year and to rejoice the hard work of the past year. One of the ways to celebrate is to have a festival in a public area for the whole community, not just the Hmong people. These festivals would consist of vendors, traditional and modern entertainment, the Hmong beauty pageant, and sports.

We were given the privilege to promote higher education, HUSA and culture awareness at Sacramento Hmong New year 2011-12 on the 24th, 25th, & 26th of November. As a student organization from the University of Sacramento State, our goal was to educate parents and students about the opportunities at our school. Our booth consisted of Sacramento State's pamphlets and brochures and HUSA's year book and brochure.

This event was a successful one because we were able to accomplish two of our goals, which is to promote higher education and cultural awareness.

WE LOVE HUSA!!
