Sacramento, CA - The hornets rebounded from a tough weekend against the San Diego Schools with two wins Friday and Saturday against SCU. On Friday the Hornets had to grind the full 60 minutes to claim the 3-1 win from a SCU Bronco team that was surprisingly fast and tenacious. The game was never under control for the Hornets until the last minute of the game when Chase Turner clinched it with an empty net goal.
On Saturday the Hornet faithful that made the road trip to San Jose were treated to a well played game that featured 5 Hornet goals. Sac State scored first in the first period and never looked back. Rolling to a 5-2 win. With these two wins over the weekend the Hornets enjoyed a taste of first place, but UC Davis swept their two game road trip to reclaim the top position in the PCHA North Division on Sunday morning.
The Hornets will play an ACHA only game against San Jose State on Friday in San Jose. Then set their sights on a huge two game home stand against UC Davis, Friday December 7th and Saturday December 8th.
Please come out and support your Hornets, as they will need all the home ice advantage they can get. The beer is cold, the ice is fast and the T-shirts are green. Tickets are $3 for Sac State Students and $5 for non-students.
