Roseville, CA - The Sacramento State Hornets ice hockey team opened their 07/08 season with a weekend doubleheader at Skate Town Ice Arena in Roseville. The Hornets split their games with a loss on Friday night to Fresno State and then a huge win against College of the Canyons on Saturday. The games were played in front of a packed arena as Hornet fans cheered their team on.
Playing Fresno State in the season opener on Friday was a tough test for the Hornets but the team played hard and barely lost by a score of 5-4. The close game featured fast skating, hard hits, and some beautiful goals! On Saturday night, the Hornets dominated from start to finish and blew out College of the Canyons by a score of 5-1.
The Hornets next game will be on Saturday, Oct. 27th when they will have a rematch with Fresno State in Fresno. The next Hornets home games will be another doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 2nd and Saturday Nov. 3rd. Both games begin at 7:00pm. Check the Schedule for details.
