Sacramento, CA - After starting the season 2-1, the Hornets got schooled first by UCSD on Friday and then again on Saturday by SDSU. Both games featured a packed house, exciting goals, and huge hits, but the young Hornets were worked by the more experienced San Diego teams. The Hornets will rematch both teams in February in San Diego.
On Saturday night the Hornets kept the game close for the first two periods with some spectacular goaltending by Christian Walsh. But in the third period, the SDSU Aztecs blew the game wide open and walked away with an 8-2 win.
This weekend the Hornets look to rebound with a home and home against PCHA newcomer Santa Clara University beginning in Roseville on Friday night, and then moving to San Jose on Saturday.
Please come out and support your Hornets, as they will need all the home ice advantage they can get on Friday night. The beer is cold, the ice is fast and the T-shirts are green. Tickets are $3 for Sac State Students and $5 for non-students.
