Joseph Ross
President
Joseph joined the Institutional Investment Society in 2007 and immediately joined the Annual Stock Portfolio Committee. He was later asked to take the position of VP of Finance. He plans on graduating in Spring 2010 with a degree in Finance, Real Estate and International Business. He transfered from Sierra College with an AA in Liberal Arts and Business.
In addition to studying at Sacramento State, Joseph was in the the Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy class 2009. He will also be studying for the CFA exam level 1. When he is not studying in class, he enjoys keeping up to date with global business and political news. He also enjoys traveling, golfing, skiing, weight training and admiring art.

Dr. Hao Lin
Faculty Advsior
Ph.D, Finance, 2006, and M.S. Financial Mathematics, 2002, University of Warwick, England; Bachelor of Business/Banking and Applied Economics, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Relocating to Sacramento from Warwick, England to join the CBA faculty, Lin had previously been a visiting research scholar at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (2004-2005). Lin’s research focuses on the optimal pricing strategies for the market makers in financial markets. He taught corporate finance, derivatives and financial risk management at Warwick, and is teaching financial institutions and market and business finance at Sacramento State. Lin is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of CFA Sacramento Society.

John Ortelle
Executive Vice President
John is currently a senior at CSUS. He transferred to Sac State from Diablo Valley College in Fall 2007. He plans to graduate in Fall 2009 with a BS in Business Administration and concentrations in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and International Business.
John is currently a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. In his free time, he enjoys reading about the business and investing, watching the market, and playing sports. He also works as a tutor in the College of Business Administration Tutoring Center.

Alexandro Duran
VP of Finance
Alexandro is a junior working to earn his undergraduate degree in the College of Business at Sacramento State. He plans on graduation Spring 2011 with a degree in Finance and a minor in Real Estate and Land Use. After graduation, Alex hopes to pursue an MBA degree from the University of California, Berkley.
Although Alexandro is a full-time student and currently works 20 hours a week, he still finds time to learn more about investing, and both, global and nationalsocial issues. He enjoys staying up to date on financial and political news. Other activities that Alexandro enjoys are weight training, cooking, socializing with friends and cruising Downtown Sacramento on his bicycle.

Joe Keller
China Research Specialist (studying in China now)
Joe will be graduating from Sac State with a BA in Philosophy concentrating in Ethics and Law. He is also currently trying to learn Mandarin with hopes to study abroad in China before he graduates. Upon graduating, Joe plans to attend a law school in Manhattan.
While Joe is an IIS enthusiast, he has a passion in studying economics, taxes, and jazz. Joe spends most of his time planning his path into getting accepted into a premier law school. With the left over time, Joe can be found socializing either on the golf course or in the downtown Sacramento area.
