Zeta Chapter History
In
the Fall of 1993, over 25 women at California State
University, Sacramento came together in search of an
organization that would empower Latinas in higher
education. After much research, they came upon
Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. They found that
Lambda Theta Nu Sorority met their needs, and it was
decided that they would bring this Sorority to the CSU,
Sacramento campus. After hard work and dedication,
seven mujeres crossed, and established the Zeta Chapter
of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. on April 22, 1994.
The newly formed chapter flourished at CSU, Sacramento,
and became the First Latino Greek lettered organization
at the University.
Currently the Zeta Chapter at CSU, Sacramento is
stronger than ever as we approach our 14th year
anniversary at the University. Each year the Zeta
Chapter holds our Annual Latina Youth Leadership
Conference, which brings over 200 junior high school
Latinas to the Sacramento State campus. We also
take part in various community services throughout the
Sacramento area, and on the CSU, Sacramento campus.
