DIAS 2008
Words cannot describe the incredible weekend that was spent at this year’s 2008 Dias at the University of California in Riverside. As hundreds of sisters attended from all regions, six different states and now 31 chapters, our organization could not have repped more than what it did in Southern California this year.
The weekend was full of events. First off, as we checked in, all sisters were bused to California States University of Los Angeles for the West Coast stepping and strolling competition known as SILK LA. Hundreds of sisters were present, filling up a good amount of seats of the theater.
As our stroll team performed our newest chapter Alpha Iota at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada was presented to the audience. At the end of the night, Lambda Theta Nu placed second place. However, the remaining weekend was filled with sisterhood events. Celebrating 22 years of sisterhood like no other was our main focus.
Events such as our workshops and newly elections for our Mesa Directiva had all chapters involved. To celebrate the weekend, our banquet was hosted at the Riverside Convention Center. Here we recognized our Chapter of the Year, Community Service of the Year and of course our Lambda of the Year.
However, one of our proudest moments is recognizing the ladies who will be graduating this year. As Lambdas we pride ourselves in entering educational institutions, growing as individuals and being able to accomplish our main goal of graduating from a four year college.
So ladies and gentlemen, beware of the new 2008 class of EDUCATED LAMBDAS!
