coarse flat hair close to his solid skull dark stripes warm under my hand body curls close, cozy tender strength claws, teeth sheathed I stroke his tiger head outside my window dark thin man in green or brown gestures to show me the deer run my vision opens-- their deep inner tendons bat or bird wings brown muscles, skin stretched taut the deer fan out wide at forest's edge
