The MBIG research facility is here to create a cooperative space where faculty, staff, and students can carry out high quality molecular biological research. Whether you are a focused molecular biologist or just wish to utilize the tools of molecular biology in an supportive capacity MBIG can provide a space for your research. The facility houses a variety of cutting edge instrumentation and equipment including:

P.E. Biosystems 310 Genetic Analyzer Capillary Gel Electrophoresis System for nucleotide sequencing and STR analysis.
Sorvall refrigerated preparative High Speed Centrifuge for the preparation/separation of proteins and nucleotides.
UVP Gel Documentation System including a non-isotopic Image Development System Development, documentation, qualitation, quantitation and general analysis of gels, blots and plate colonies.
Bioinformatics Stations Characterization and analysis of genomic properties of proteins and nucleotides.
Bellco Biosafety Cabinet Mammalian and plant cell culturing.
Nikon Inverted Microscope Mammalian and plant cell culturing.
Microm Microtome Sectioning biological specimens (such as human hair) embedded in paraffin.
MJ Research In Situ PCR Machine For DNA analysis of human shed hair and other tissues.
