M.E.Ch.A de CSUS for the Education
of our Youth
Dear Students, Counselors,
and/or Advisors,
We as
M.E.Ch.A. (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan) de CSUS believe
that reaching out to high schools is essential to continuing the student
Chicano movement. We have not only the privilege of educating other
students about the cultural and educational issues Chicano students face
everyday, but we as conscience Chicanos feel we have a responsibility to
do so. Because of this we have established a High School Outreach
Program. The program includes a variety of workshops we would like to
present to students at your high school. In the past we have presented
workshops encompassing political, educational, and cultural issues that
affect the Raza community such as College 101, FAFSA, M.E.Ch.A. 101,
LGBTIAQ Community, and information about how to start your own M.E.Ch.A.
chapter on your campus.
If you would like to be involved in the M.E.Ch.A. de CSUS High School
Outreach Program and receive more information about our organization and
the various workshops we offer, please contact Jose Becerra at
mechadecsus@yahoo.com or at (916) 588-5163.
Thank you for your time and we hope to hear from you soon.
In
Strength and Solidarity,
Jose Becerra
