"This necklace was made for my mother to wear to my sister's wedding. My mother's birthstone is the aquamarine and when I saw the stone I thought it would be perfect. The stone is carved so I didn't want to just set the stone on a plain surface which would made the design on the stone look like a crack. I surrounded the stone with reticulated silver, which creates a textural relationship between the stone and metal."
