"I went to San Francisco with my boyfriend and went to a Pearl Factory booth, where I asked him to pick and oyster for me. He picked one that had quite an impressively sized pearl inside. His only request was that I set the pearl myself. I did. In a very simply style, I made a tiered ring band and placed the pearl right on top. It's in a constant state of visual tension as the pearl looks as though it is about to roll off the ring itself. I wanted to display the pearl with as little metal interference as possible and display its large size."
