"The earrings are pliqué a jour and were inspired by the natural drape of floral vines. I rolled, pierced and gradually filled each cell on a sheet of mica to create a translucent wall of enamels. I blended transparent oranges, reds, pinks, yellows and greens to enhance the floral patterning and feminine quality of the earrings.

I love working in enamels because of the amazing colors but also because of the wonderful surprises that happen each time you remove a piece from the kiln. When you pull them out of the kiln they are still burning red-hot but as they cool you see the true colors bloom to life, sometimes yielding unexpected yet amazing results."
