Open Medulla Oblongata, Caudal

A horizontal section through the inferior olivary nucleus to show
the hypoglossal nucleus, the dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus nerve
,
and the solitary nucleus.
In this region the decussation of the olivocerebellar fibers can be
observed crossing through the medial lemniscus.
Other important gray matter nuclei include the vestibular nucleus, the lateral (accessory) cuneate
nucleus, and the spinal trigeminal nucleus.
