It's official! Our department's name has been changed to the Sacramento State School of Nursing!
Have you heard? Nursing has finally moved out of El Dorado Hall! Click here to learn about the new space in Folsom Hall and click here to see recent video from the spring 2011 white coat ceremony.
The Nursing Chapter of the Sacramento State Alumni Association is an
organization that serves to foster a lifelong interest and
connection with the School of Nursing and Sac State. Since the
undergraduate nursing program’s inception in 1958, thousands of Sac
State baccalaureate degree nurses have gone forward to serve their
communities and improve the health of others. The impact of this
commitment to a profession in caring is amplified by the fact that
one nurse working full-time for thirty years is likely to touch the
lives of over thirty thousand individuals, assuming the nurse cares
for just four patients each eight hour day.
Strong alumni participation allows the Chapter to fund an
undergraduate student award which recognizes nursing leadership. The
Chapter holds events to build fellowship among faculty, alums,
students, and friends of the School of Nursing. As members, alumni serve as mentors to
current students and as liaisons to the greater nursing community.
Please consider supporting your alma mater and the Nursing Chapter
of the Alumni Association through membership. It is a great way to
give something back and to reacquaint yourself with former
classmates and friends. We look forward to welcoming you at our next
event!
