Conference Hotel
The Philosophy Department has arranged a conference special rate with the Larkspur Landing of $84/night. These rooms are located to the north-east of campus, a fairly pleasant 15min walk along the river trail to campus, and is nearby to restaurants and cafes.

Billeting with Undergrads
Also, we'll try to arrange billeting with some of our more dedicated majors. So, if you're short on travel fnds, have no place to stay, or just would enjoy the company of some eager and friendly philosophy undergrads, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Please note, some of these hotels offer CSUS rates, so be sure to let them know you are attending a CSUS event. Also some offer government or state employee rates for those of you who are state employees (not just for CA). Be sure to bring your employee id with you.
Please keep in mind that Sac State is an urban campus, but it is somewhat isolated from the city by the American River on one side, and train tracks and HWY 50 on the other. Therefore, any accommodations will involve a certain degree of walking to get to campus. I've listed the following accommodations according to their proximity to campus. Most of these hotels allow you to walk to campus along the American River Bike Trail…a more direct and enjoyable route than driving to campus.
If you are driving, please bear in mind that parking permits ($2.75) are required on campus, 24/7.
The campus is bordered by the following major intersections:
South of the River (East of Campus)
These are closest to campus and easy walking distance or about 15min or so along the American River trail. But this is a major intersection area with Hwy 50, so not very tranquil.

These motels are mom+pop type places, are south of the river and a bit further east from campus. They are an easy drive along Folsom or you can jump on the lightrail ($2/ride) which scoots you to the bottom of campus at 65 th /Folsom.

These are close-ish to campus and located in major commercial/shopping areas, with food and fun. Not too tranquil an area, but there is a very enjoyable (15-20min) walk along the river trail to campus – better than caffeine!
