FORUMS
Spring 2010
Following the afternoon seminars each Friday, an "open
forum" is held from 3-4 p.m. The Forum features invited speakers of note who
share their views with members, followed by lively question
and answer sessions. The locations vary depending on
CSUS availability, so check below.

26: Deborah Niemeier – Can You Feel the
Heat?

This
professor in the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering at UC Davis and
director of the UC Davis-Caltrans Air
Quality Project will discuss global
warming. Dr. Niemeier's current research
focuses on characterizing greenhouse gas
emissions and energy flows in complex
systems. The research group also works in
the area of transportation - vehicle
emissions modeling at local and regional
scales, including evaluating the
connections between transportation and air
quality policy.
