Former SWAA Board Chair On the Road

Bill Fairbanks, former SWAA Board Chair and Professor Emeritus at Cuesta College, continues his walk across the United States, now in its third year. With the support of his wife Carole, who drives ahead and arranges accommodation between stages of the walk, Bill has trekked from his Central California home through Northern California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri, where after a detour through Iowa, he crossed the Mississippi at Hannibal and entered Illinois. There Bill caught the attention of two local newspapers, the Quincy Herald-Whig, which created a video, and the Shelbyville Daily Union, which captured Bill's story in an article.
