Who we are

Sacramento State's Office of Public Affairs provides a wide range of coverage and promotions for the University through traditional media outlets such as newspapers, radio and television, along with multimedia presentations on its website and social media. The office also assists University departments with special projects for presentations.

What we do

Public Affairs is responsible for:

  • Responding to media inquiries about the University.
  • Arranging interviews with professors who are experts on local, state and national issues.
  • Writing news releases and articles for various publications such as the Sacramento State Leader (a monthly online publication for community leaders, faculty and staff) and the Sacramento State News web page.
  • Producing multimedia presentations such as videos and slideshows showcasing the strengths of the University community.
  • Managing the University's social media outlets, such as those on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.
  • Managing crisis communications.
