Alexander Gonzalez holds town hall for University community
We’re going to really try to communicate as much as we’re able to. I hope to be personally involved every week, having some updates if they’re available to make sure everybody understands where we are. I think the town hall went well in the sense that the level of questioning and the issues that were raised were very good in helping to clarify the situation further. Question: How fluid is the situation with the budget? Gonzalez: To this point, I think they have solidified as much as they can in terms of the budget numbers. We were hesitant to really move forward until we really had a better handle on it. And I think now we’re at a point where we can start making some real decisions and implementing the budget adjustments that we’re going to have to make. Vice President for Human Resources David Wagner: I would say the general message is if this is a public event, a conference, a meeting, a summer camp, classes, it’s a group tour of the campus – all of those things will continue. Normal day-to-day business is where the offices will be closed. |
