President Alexander Gonzalez’ statement on the University’s enrollment
The California State University has declared a systemwide impaction in light of the state’s worsening fiscal crisis, and many campuses are reducing enrollment quotas for Fall 2009.
I want to clarify that Sacramento State is not impacted. Our enrollment is right on target in terms of our number of students for this academic year, and given our campus’ typical enrollment patterns, we are currently preserving our application deadlines for Fall 2009: March 1 for first-year students and June 1 for transfer students.
We also continue to base our admissions on the same criteria as previous years.
As always, I join our Student Affairs staff in encouraging all prospective students to get their applications in as soon as possible.

I will continue to keep you posted as to any new developments.
Sincerely,
Alexander Gonzalez
President
