Employee Furlough Information
Following a California State University systemwide implementation, most Sacramento State employees—including University President Alexander Gonzalez—will begin taking furlough days in August.
Academic faculty will take 18-24 furlough days a year, depending on employment status. All other furloughed staff and administrators who are full-time, 12-month employees will take 24 furlough days. The furloughs are spread over 11 months and end June 30, 2010.
Some campus-wide furlough days will be scheduled, while other days will be determined in consultation between individual employees and their managers. The campus will not be closed on designated furlough days unless campus closure is specifically noted for that day. On most campus-wide furlough days a limited number of services will be available.
November 27, 2009
All campus offices and services will be closed for the campus-wide furlough day Friday, Nov. 27, except Public Safety and, on a limited basis, Facilities Services. Members of Unit 6 will be working that day.
