To All Members of the Campus Community:
In preparation for the campus’ first furlough day on Friday, Aug. 7, I want to provide some additional information to assist with your plans for August furlough days and for the remainder of the year. While the Chancellor’s Office has not yet indicated approval for all of the additional President-designated staff campus furlough days, here is a list of all days currently approved as well as those that were part of the requested modifications to the originally approved campus plan.

Those days where status is noted as “Requested” reflect a modification to the campus’ approved plan. This modification has not yet been approved by the Chancellor’s Office.
We added the additional days after discussions with CSUEU leadership noting preference of members for more President-designated campus furlough days.
A question has been asked regarding vacation already scheduled for a campus-designated furlough day. In this situation, the furlough day takes precedence, and the employee will not be charged a vacation day.
By tomorrow, we hope to be able to identify which major offices and facilities are open, closed or partially open for services on Friday, August 7, and Friday, August 14.
On both August furlough days, several previously scheduled events and activities will proceed as planned, including Year Round Operations (YRO) classes, Summer Bridge Program courses, athletics events, kids science camp, and rehearsals for various dance and theater related programs. In addition, several conferences or events have been scheduled in the University Union and the Alumni Center on either or both of these days, and we anticipate all of these courses and events will continue as planned.
Remember: If your bargaining unit has not approved furloughs, please report to work as scheduled on Friday, August 7, and Friday, August 14. Information on campus furloughs is available at www.csus.edu/pa/furlough.
Information on the budget is available at www.csus.edu/pa/budget.
Sincerely, David Wagner
