To All Members of the Campus Community:
We are pleased to report that the campus implementation plan for furloughs has been approved by the Chancellor’s Office. The full copy of the six-page document may be found at the furlough information website at: http://www.csus.edu/pa/furlough/.
It will be posted this afternoon. A grid noting staff, management and faculty designated furlough days is on page two of the document and is a good visual summary.
The web site also contains information on which offices will be open and providing limited services this Friday, August 14, the second campus-designated furlough day this month.
We encourage offices, departments and individuals to use Outlook’s Out-of-Office Assistant and their voice mail greetings to inform the public of office closures and hours because of furloughs. A link to an instructional video on changing Out-of-Office Assistant and voice mail greetings also is posted on the web site.
Additional information will be sent by e-mail to faculty tomorrow on the faculty furlough program.
Initial reports on the first campus-designated furlough day last Friday indicated a smooth implementation of the furlough program. The spirit of cooperation was noticeable, and your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. We will continue to monitor both campus-designated furlough days and individually-nominated days to assure that if problems develop they are addressed in a timely manner.
Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
Sincerely,
David Wagner
Vice President for Human Resources
