Public affairs shares the University's story with the media, the public and the campus community itself. We offer a number of products and services, listed below, to do that.

Publicize news and events
To share news about your projects, research, events and more. Contact news services at (916) 278-6156, or use our news submission form.

Get print materials
If you need to develop printed materials such as brochures and posters contact our publications and design office at (916) 278-4380 for a consultation.

Buy or Sell tickets
If you're planning to buy or sell tickets to a campus event, contact our Sacramento State Ticket Office at (916) 278-4323.

Advertising in local print and electronic media may be arranged by calling public affairs at (916) 278-6156. We have an annual contract with the Sacramento Bee, as well as current price sheets and contact information for other local media. Design assistance is available through our publications and design office; placement costs are handled by the sponsoring unit.

The Sacramento State Magazine
published twice each year for alumni and other friends of the University. Stories are compiled from news releases, Bulletin stories and other tips received by public affairs.

Sacramento State News is the news website. It features media resources, current campus news and events, and much more.

The University ceremonies and visitor services office coordinates graduation ceremonies for each of the University's seven Colleges, and handles other special ceremonies such as the annual Honors Convocation. It also arranges VIP tours and runs the student hosts program, which coordinates student representatives for high profile events. The Sacramento State Bulletin is the University's newsletter for faculty and staff, published weekly during the academic year. It includes news releases, general articles about the campus, a listing of recent professional/scholarly activities, profiles of new employees, events and more. The Sacramento State Ticket Office is the central source for tickets to all Sacramento State events. The office is also a Tickets.com center, selling tickets to events throughout Northern California and Nevada. Our e-mail news service provides current news about Sacramento State to reporters and others. Subscribers can choose from news releases, event information, sports news or all news. Subscribe to the e-mail news service.

The events calendar features a comprehensive listing of public events on campus. It appears on the Web. Submit items for the campus calendar.

News releases are how campus news is sent to the media and, increasingly, to interested members of the public. Topics range from campus events to research projects and significant campus developments. Based on the expectations of the media, we determine which stories to send as news releases and which reporters will be most interested. All releases are also sent to subscribers of our e-mail news service. Submit an item for a possible news release.

Newslink is a monthly e-mail newsletter featuring information for alumni, as well as campus news, events and sports highlights. Subscribe to Newslink.

The news services office pursues positive media coverage of the University, responds to media inquiries and arranges interviews for reporters seeking the expertise of University professors.
