Run to Feed the Hungry

Thousands of runners participated in last year’s Run to Feed the Hungry.
The $50 team member registration fee provides tremendous help for the people in our region who need it most. Please consider that the extra donation you make by signing up for a team instead of as an individual can provide two families of four with a four-day supply of food. And each dollar donated can be leveraged for $10 in goods and services directly to the community.

Sacramento State is putting together a team for the annual Run to Feed the Hungry on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26.
The run is billed as the largest Thanksgiving Day race in the nation, and organizers expect to draw more than 30,000 people this year. Proceeds from the race support the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services.
“Sacramento State is honored to have the Run to Feed the Hungry begin at the doorstep to our campus,” says University President Alexander Gonzalez. “The event is one of Sacramento’s proudest traditions, and I am delighted that our University’s team will help benefit a worthy cause.”
The run begins at Sacramento State and makes its way through East Sacramento neighborhoods. Participants may walk or run a 5K course or run the 10K course (the 10K begins at 8:45a.m. and 5K begins at 9:05 a.m.) They can choose to have their run timed or untimed. For a map of the race visit www.runtofeedthehungry.com/pdf/racemap.pdf.
Sacramento State team members will enjoy an on-campus VIP area and special parking on race day.
The team is open to students, staff, faculty, alumni and anyone interested in running or walking with the team, including friends and family members.
