New Citizens Ceremony

Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez will speak about the importance of education at a naturalization ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium.

Gonzalez’ parents were immigrants to the United States, and he was the first member of his family to obtain a college degree.

“For me, the keys to unlocking my potential were a strong sense of family, hard work and education,” Gonzalez says.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is holding the monthly ceremony for approximately 900 new citizens from countries around the world.

Memorial Auditorium is at 1515 J Street in Sacramento. For more information, contact Sharon Rummery, USCIS Regional Media Manager, at (415) 987-0191 or Sacramento State’s Public Affairs Office at (916) 278-6156.
