Area youth were given baseball tips from former professionals and Sacramento State coaches and players during the fourth annual New Faze Youth Baseball Camp.

The camp was free but limited to 150 youth ages 8-18.

Players received instruction on pitching, hitting, fielding and base running. The morning and afternoon sessions emphasized various techniques geared to specific skill levels.

Instructors included former Milwaukee Brewers slugger Greg Vaughn, former St. Louis Cardinals infielder Fernando Vina, former Philadelphia Phillies player Ricky Jordan, former Houston Astros outfielder James Mouton and former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Lloyd Moseby.

The baseball camp, co-sponsored by New Faze Development, was started in 2007. New Faze president Allen Warren played several years in the New York Yankees farm system. The program was directed by Quinn Gregory, a former minor leaguer.
