The Art Chapter of the CSUS Alumni Association

The Art Chapter has a long history of bringing its members and the greater Sacramento community together in celebrating the arts. Working with the CSUS Art Department and CSUS Alumni Association, the Chapter has sponsored several art-related films; has hosted the reception of painter and instructor Wayne Thiebaud; and brought local filmmaker Mark Herzig to campus to present his movie, "Scherzo," and to speak about cinematography. For more than a decade, the Chapter has hosted the annual "Art Ball" for graduating Art majors and graduate students at CSUS.

The Art Chapter also has been responsible for organizing several art exhibitions on campus, including the critically acclaimed, "CSUS 50th Anniversary Show," a juried show with more than 150 pieces displayed on four floors of the CSUS Library (1998); the Chapter Annual Membership Show (CAMS), held each August; and, in Fall 2004, the CSUS Art Chapter Invitational Exhibition, scheduled during Homecoming.

The Art Chapter officers encourage Chapter member participation at their monthly meetings and all Chapter-sponsored events. If you would like to learn more about the Art Chapter--including membership, volunteer opportunities, or plans for future exhibitions involving Chapter members--please visit the Chapter's website. Please note: you do not have to be an Art student or even an alumnus in order to join the Art Chapter of the CSUS Alumni Association. Different types of memberships are available for current students, recent graduates, and alumni who graduated more than one year ago. For general questions about the Alumni Association, call (916) 278-6295 or 1-800-SAC-GRAD.
