University and Community Service
The Department of Art sponsors numerous free public events at CSUS every semester, ranging from exhibitions and installations in the two Kadema Hall galleries to lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and symposia. In Fall 2004, we are very pleased to offer several lectures by contemporary artists ("Perspectives on Contemporary Art": see the link below). We also are initiating a series of art history lectures, "Talk About Art." For the exhibition schedules of the Else and Witt Galleries in Kadema Hall, please check the links listed below. Also listed is the link for all art events on campus, including exhibitions at the Design Gallery, University Library Gallery, and University Union Gallery.
The Art Chapter of the CSUS Alumni Association sponsors events on campus throughout the year, including its annual membership show (CAMS)--a juried art exhibition held each August--and the Art Ball for graduating seniors and graduate students, held each May. This Fall the Art Chapter is presenting an invitational exhibition during the months of September and October. Located in the University Union Art Gallery, it will be part of the Second Saturday "Art Walk" at CSUS on October 9th (12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m.). For more information about the Art Chapter, including membership, see the link below.
