“There is no more moving tribute to what we do at CSUS than the moment at graduation when the 40-50% of the graduates raise their hands as the first in their family to graduate from college. Our work truly changes people’s lives.”
–Nick Burnett, Vice Chair
Demographically the Communication Studies Department resembles the profile for the College and CSUS students. Females made up 61% of the 1,141 undergraduate students during the 2003 academic year. Ethnically the department is similar to the College and university with the exception that our department attract a slightly lower Asian population than the campus as a whole. The department granted 321 bachelor’s degrees in 2003.
