The Internship Program in Criminal Justice
The Division of Criminal Justice Internship Program is based on the professional requirements of the Criminal Justice field. Because this is an applied field, it is useful to supplement traditional academic scholarship with field experience in order to reinforce the student's education, and to highlight the relationship between theory and practice.
OBJECTIVES:
- Provide supervised experience in a Criminal Justice or related agency.
- Assist students in assessing their attitudes, interests, skills, and maturity for continuing the pursuit of a career in the Criminal Justice field.
- Assist students in the transfer of theoretical knowledge to the applied field of Criminal Justice.
- Provide an internship experience which will be professionally beneficial and personally rewarding to the student.
- Provide a basis for professional career selection.
