Grants Received from International Projects:

ADR Curriculum Development and Training in Liberia
(Ernest Uwazie, Criminal Justice)

CSUS and University of Liberia in Monrovia propose a joint project on alternative dispute resolution curriculum development and training in Liberia. The project is designed to develop internal capacity within Liberian University and educational institutions for teaching conflict management. Employing a “train the trainers” approach , a diverse team of US experts in ADR will train a multi-ethnic team from Liberia in ADR and conflict management. The initial training will occur in US with four Liberian faculty members, followed by the second training in Liberia. At the end of the project about 60 Liberians will have received training in ADR and ADR support network will have been setup in the country for post-training activities.

Urban Inter-Ethnic/ Religious Conflict Resolution in Nigeria

CSUS and the Nigerian Institution of Advanced Legal Studies in Lagos, propose a joint project designed to develop internal capacity with the Nigerian indigenous/ community organizations for preventing, managing and resolving inter-ethnic and religious conflicts. Employing a “train the trainer” approach, a diverse team of U.S. experts in conflict resolution will train a multi-ethnic team in Nigeria on mediation, negotiation and general conflict resolution techniques.

rogram Promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in West Africa

The goal of this project is to develop internal capacity within West African Organizations for preventing , managing and resolving intra-state , public as well as inter-personal conflicts.
