Our student Geography Club is now the proud adopters of a mile of the American River Parkway! The mile is between mile 6 and mile 7, which is about 1/2 Mile north of the Guy West Bridge! Stay tuned for our first cleanup day!
Volunteer Opportunities
Sacramento Tree Foundation - “Tree Care on the Bike Trail” March 26th @9am. Meet at the trail entrance near 20th and C St. in midtown and help SABA maintain the native plants at the entrance and the seedlings along the trail. Contact Steve @ 924-8733 for directions and details.
Christian Rohde
Geography 2001 Graduate
Graduating Cum Laude, Christian is an amateur naturalist and avid outdoorsman whose interests lie in environmental topics and land use management. After becoming a member of an environmental club at Sierra College, he focused his efforts in support of the Spenceville Wildlife Management and Recreation Area east of Beale Air Force Base. Along with his wife and local residents, he helped to found Friends of Spenceville, and continues with his volunteer efforts to increase public outreach and education about the need to appreciate the preserve and the necessity of site clean-ups to encourage recreational use.
