The Director and the part time faculty teaching the Core Gerontology prefix courses all have degrees and/or certifications in gerontology. Fortunately for the Program, these gerontologists are well-qualified and dedicated individuals who contribute beyond expectations.
The Director and all Gerontology Core faculty are recognized locally and nationally as experts in gerontology. Professor Gale is an CSUS emeritus faculty member who has taught this course since it’s inception. He was the first Director of the Gerontology Program. He is well published and speaks locally and internationally on various social policy issues.
Professor Schier-Anzelmo is a leading expert in housing for Alzheimer’s disease. Her presentations and writing focuses on housing alternatives and humanistic care of individuals who are cognitively impaired. She teaches in both the undergraduate and Graduate Certificate Programs.
Professor Beth Mann, is the former California State Ombudsman, and speaks statewide on various topics focusing on advocacy, policy, and healthy aging to both the lay and professional audiences. Additionally she has extensive background in curriculum development and has made time to augment her course for distance education distribution.
Dr. Osborne directs the Program and teaches the Internship and Independent Studies courses in the Gero prefix. Her research, teaching, presentation, and writing interests center on caregiving, healthy aging, educational strategies to enhance learning, curriculum development, and incorporating geriatric concepts into gerontology courses.

Michael Nave , kinesiology and health science, authored a two-part article that was in the American Society of Safety Engineers' June and July issues of Professional Safety . They were on the "SH&E life-cycle cost model."

Michael Nave, kinesiology and health science, had a manuscript accepted for publication in the Journal of Safety Research titled "Effect of Loss Control Service on Reported Injury Incidence."
