The graduate program in Public Policy and Administration curriculum consists of four components; academic core, electives, internship, and culminating experience. The department of Public Policy and Administration requires students to use APA style when writing papers.
PPA 295, Internship Public Policy and
Administration Internships (3 units)
NOTE: An internship proposal and paper is required of each student taking
this course.
Forms are available in our department office and to download at our website.
Students choose from electives that fulfill their particular needs and goals. Electives may be chosen from among PPA courses and classes in other departments. Currently the Department offers specializations in urban policy and collaborative governance.
Please use APA style when writing your thesis.
The graduate program in Public Policy and Administration has three required prerequisites: government/political science, microeconomics, and statistics.
Students are required to complete prerequisite courses prior to their first semester in the program. The courses must be completed with a grade of B or better. Applicants to the program may complete prerequisite courses while making their application. However, those applicants who have successfully completed prerequisites prior to applying to the program are considered stronger candidates for admission.
With the exception of PPA 500, all of our courses are offered once a year.
Please note: Starting AY 2012-2013, PPA 230 will be offered fall only as reflected in these tables. PPA 230 will be offered in spring 2012, but not fall 2011. Students needing PPA 230 in AY 2011-2012 should speak to a faculty advisor.
