Continuous Enrollment

Continuous Enrollment (PPA 599) is required for students who have successfully completed one semester of PPA 500 but still need to complete the project or thesis.

  1. Eligibility is based upon the following.
    1. The student has advanced to candidacy.
    2. The student has not enrolled in 599 more than two times of the three allowed.
    3. The student has completed all course work and does not intend to enroll in any additional courses.
  2. To register for Continuous Enrollment, the students must go to the Graduate Center to obtain a registration packet. Packets completed and returned to the Graduate Center prior to the deadline for that semester avoid the late fee.

If you earn an RP (reasonable progress) in PPA 500 but have not yet completed your thesis/project, then you get to enroll in Continuous Enrollment. The advantage is the reduced fees and the ability to continue to use the library while you complete your thesis. To enroll, you will need to download the form: Continuous Enrollment form and take your fee to Graduate Studies by the deadline (to avoid late fees).

You may enroll in Continuous Enrollment three times. If after three semesters you still have not completed your thesis/project, you will need to re-enroll in PPA 500 and pay full semester fees (yikes!). If all you need to do is turn in your thesis and you've missed the submission deadline, you will need to pay semester fees before you can graduate.
