Welcome
to the home of Governmental & Civic Affairs at Sacramento State. The
mission of the Office of Governmental & Civic Affairs is to facilitate
and coordinate campus relations with local, county, state and federal
elected officials and governmental agencies. In addition, the Office
of Governmental & Civic Affairs seeks to build community relationships
and partnerships to further the development of both Sacramento State
and the regional community it serves.
PUBLIC
SERVICE & PUBLIC POLICY RESEARCH
As the State Capital's leading university, Sacramento State is renowned
for its public service programs and public policy research. The Office
of Governmental & Civic Affairs seeks to strengthen and help showcase
the linkages between the campus and the Legislature and State Government.
The Center for California Studies offers a wonderful entrée into public service at the highest levels of state government, as well as in the legislative and judicial branches of state government. The Center is home to four outstanding fellowship programs:
- California Executive Fellowship Program
- California Senate Fellows Program
- Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program
- Judicial Administration Fellowship Program

The Institute for Higher Education Leadership & Policy is dedicated to working with policymakers, educators, researchers, and others committed to enhancing educational outcomes in California and the nation. The Institute engages in policy research on topics such as student financial aid, community college transfer, workforce development, and accountability.
