Governmental & Civic Affairs
General Information
The Office of Governmental & Civic Affairs at Sacramento State facilitates relations with elected officials and governmental agencies at all levels to foster greater understanding of Sacramento State’s mission and initiatives, and to serve as a resource for the regional community.
The Office:
- Facilitates relations with local, county, state and federal government, providing information in response to requests from elected officials and governmental agencies.
- Coordinates campus positions in response to local, state and federal legislative proposals.
- Fosters collaboration with the Sacramento region’s Congressional delegation to identify and secure federal resources to benefit students, faculty and staff.
- Facilitates relations with K-12 schools and community and non-profit groups to establish and maintain partnerships that promote college preparation, college access and student achievement.
- Works closely with the California State University Office of Advocacy and Institutional Relations on state budget and legislative issues.
