DESTINATION 2010

Announcing the new Signature Authorization pages in CMS

Starting Monday, July 2, the new Signature Authorization pages will be available through the CMS Finance System.  This new process replaces the annual Signature Authorization form that was previously sent out to departments by Procurement Services.

The Signature Authorization pages will allow users to view Sacramento State employees who have been authorized to sign for various expenditures.  This data can be viewed by individual or by department.  The expenditure categories included in this new process are:

  • EXP    Expenditure – included requisition, direct pay, expenditure transfer and petty cash
  • TV       Travel
  • BT       Budget transfer
  • SOS     Stockless office supply
  • REP     Reprographics
  • ONE    One Card deposit
  • PRO    Procurement Card

All employees with access to CMS Finance will automatically have access to view the Signature Authorization pages.  The navigation is as follows:

My Sac State>Finance Access>CSUS Custom Objects>Signature Authorization

Additionally, two queries have been developed to generated Signature Authorization data by employee or by department:

  • SAC8ALL_SIGAUTH_BY_NAME – Signature Authorization lookup by employee
  • SAC8ALL_SIGAUTH_BY_DEPTID – Signature Authorization lookup by department

All requests for Signature Authorization will now be processed using the Request for CMS Financials User Access form found here:

http://www.csus.edu/irt/acs/forms/CMS_FIN_Request.pdf

Signature Authorizations will be confirmed annually through the CMS security verification process that typically occurs around July.  This process involves notifying Program Administrators and deans with a listing of users within their Program Center who have access to CMS applications.  Once the information is verified, Business Information Services (BIS) will be responsible for updating the Signature Authority information in CMS.

Questions or problems regarding the Signature Authorization pages and process should be directed to the CMS Help Desk at (916) 278-2670.  Additional reference material related to Signature Authorization can be obtained here:
