BID INFORMATION

It is the responsibility of the requesting campus department to submit to Procurement their requirements for goods and services. It is the responsibility of the Procurement Office to review the requests and solicit price availability in one of the following ways:

1. Competition is sought, via either formal or informal solicitation, for transactions under $50,000 whenever the Buyer determines that competition is necessary to develop a source, validate prices, or for other sound business reasons.
   
   
2. Formal Bid: Purchase in excess of $50,000.00 are formally bid in accordance with University procedures and policies. Sealed bids are required and bid prices are read at a public bid opening. An award is made to the lowest responsible bidder who has met the terms of the bid request.

Additional Information:

A bulletin board is located outside the Procurement Office for the purpose of posting bids and notices of intent to award. Vendors may request copies of bids by calling the bid line at (916) 278-7349. Formal bid requests are advertised on the California State Contracts Register.
