Answer: $5,000.00 and above.
Question: When is advertising required for Public Works Projects?
Answer: on projects up to $400,000.00 (minor capital outlay), Notice to Contractors is advertised on the California State Contracts Register and with one additional publication. A copy is also forwarded to many of the Builders Exchanges.
On projects $400,000.00 & up (major capital outlay), Notice to Contractors is advertised on the California State Contracts Register and advertised in two additional publications. A copy is also forwarded to many of the Builders Exchanges.
Question: Do you require prequalification for each construction bid?
Answer: No, only major capital outlay bids over $400,000.00 require prequalification.
Question: What documents are required for bids less than $400,000.00?
Answer: (1) Bidders Bond, (2) DVBE Participation, (3) Payment and Performance Bonds, and (4) Insurance.
Question: How can I get a bid packet mailed to me?
Answer: Information for obtaining a bid package is included in the Notice to Contractors for each project.
Question: What is your payment arrangement for construction contracts?
Answer: The University Accounts Payable Office normally pays an invoice within 30 days after receipt of an invoice approved by the Project Coordinator.
